GROUP OPERATIONS MANAGER

HBS (PNG) LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction and maintenance, haulage, lighting and crushing services and plant equipment hire.

We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Group Operations Manager. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The role is responsible for leading the safe, profitable, and efficient delivery of HBS operations across Papua New Guinea while supporting the Company's strategic growth objectives and overall business performance.

The position provides leadership across mining, civil infrastructure, oil and gas, maintenance, equipment management, and future diversified service offerings, ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance, high client satisfaction, and full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

Working closely with the COO and Executive Leadership Team, the Group Operations Manager is accountable for integrating operational delivery with commercial, financial, project controls, asset management, supply chain, human capital, and business development functions to maximise profitability, optimise resource utilisation, effectively manage operational risk, and deliver sustainable business growth.

The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining trusted executive relationships with clients, regulators, joint venture partners, OEMs, suppliers, financiers, and other key stakeholders across Papua New Guinea, Australia, and the wider region. The Group Operations Manager will support the successful integration of HBS into the Petrosea Group by embedding world-class operational systems, governance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Candidate must have:

• Lead and oversee all HBS operational activities across mining, civil infrastructure, maintenance, equipment management, oil & gas, and related service operations throughout Papua New Guinea.
• Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, productivity, asset utilisation, and business performance across multiple project sites.
• Provide leadership and accountability for operational planning, project delivery, profitability, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
• Develop and lead high-performing teams through effective leadership, workforce planning, capability development, and succession management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, contractual, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
• Manage operational risks while ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable business operations across all projects.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, landowners, suppliers, joint venture partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Support business growth through operational input into tendering, business development, strategic planning, and client engagement initiatives.
• Drive financial performance by optimising resources, controlling costs, improving productivity, and achieving operational profit targets.
• Champion a culture of safety, accountability, operational discipline, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
