  • Executive leadership seat with direct influence on organisational strategy
  • Lead HR's digital future with AI, automation and modern HR technology
  • Join a trusted, values-driven PNG institution that invests in its people

About the Organisation

Our client is a long-established and highly respected Papua New Guinean financial services organisation with a proud history of serving members and customers across the country. Built on trust, integrity and a deep commitment to the communities it serves, the organisation is now entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation, modernising how it operates, how it serves its customers and how it supports its people.

Joining this organisation means becoming part of a values-driven business that genuinely invests in its workforce. You can expect a seat at the executive table, the backing of a leadership team that sees people as central to its success, and the rare opportunity to leave a lasting mark on a national institution. This is a role where your ideas will be heard, your leadership will be visible, and your impact will be felt across the entire organisation.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking people leader to take the helm of People & Culture during a significant period of organisational change. As Head of People & Culture, you will set the people strategy and lead all HR functions, including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, learning and development, culture and organisational effectiveness.

Above all, you will be the architect of a modern People & Culture function. You will lead the digitalisation of HR services, introduce AI, automation and contemporary HR technology, streamline processes and guide the organisation through a comprehensive change management programme, building a high-performing, engaged and values-driven workforce along the way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a People & Culture strategy that drives business performance, acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Lead the digital transformation of HR, implementing AI, automation and modern HRIS platforms to improve service delivery and decision-making
  • Drive workforce planning, succession planning and talent pipeline development to attract, develop and retain top talent
  • Champion culture, values and employee engagement, leading culture transformation and change initiatives across the organisation
  • Provide oversight of complex employee relations matters and ensure full compliance with employment legislation, governance standards and audit requirements
  • Oversee performance management frameworks and support organisational design and restructuring initiatives
  • Shape learning and development strategy so capability building aligns with current business needs and future skills
  • Ensure efficient HR operations across recruitment, payroll interface, HR data and reporting
  • Lead, coach and develop a capable P&C team, including the Advisor, P&C Officer and Payroll team
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or HR certification is highly regarded
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience implementing AI, automation and modern HR technologies
  • Proven track record in HR strategy, business partnering, organisational development and change management
  • Strong background in employee relations and talent management, with sound knowledge of employment legislation and best-practice HR frameworks
  • Confident using HR analytics and data to inform decisions
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills at executive and board level
  • A leader of high integrity who is strategic, commercially minded, resilient and genuinely passionate about people and culture
Why Apply?

This is not a role for maintaining the status quo. It is a chance to transform an established organisation from the inside, modernise a function and build a legacy of capability and culture that will outlast your tenure. If you are energised by change, inspired by technology and driven to bring out the best in people, this is your next career-defining move.
