Role Overview:

Join this leading financial institution who is seeking a strategic leader to take on the new role of Head of Segments and Products within their Business Banking division. Reporting directly to the Deputy General Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving SME credit programs and enhancing market penetration across various segments. This position requires a visionary leader who can innovate, inspire, and execute with excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Product Strategy: Oversee the development, modification, and review of credit programs, ensuring they align with market needs and drive profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team ensuring they deliver effective training to the Sales force, enabling them to meet and exceed targets.
  • Market Research & Segmentation: Establish mechanisms for comprehensive market research and customer segmentation, guiding the organisation's strategic focus and resource allocation.
  • Risk Management: Act as the central point of coordination between Sales and Risk teams, ensuring changes in risk parameters are based on accurate market feedback.
  • Customer Intelligence: Provide actionable business intelligence boosting product penetration, particularly in non-loan offerings.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process enhancements across the business, collaborating with various departments to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant banking regulations, including AML and internal policies, safeguarding the bank’s legal standing.
  • Develop the Segment: Lead the development of a new department focusing on businesses with turnovers ranging from Kina 5-20m to Kina 20-100m, managing a team of three initially, with potential for growth.
  • Strategic Innovation: Drive innovation in data analytics and agricultural finance to enhance product offerings and customer experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with sales and credit teams to implement effective market approaches and credit policies, ensuring alignment with both retail and corporate banking dynamics.
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in retail and corporate banking, with a strong focus on product development, market strategy, and SME banking.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies in fast-moving, customer-centric environments.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams, with a track record of delivering results in challenging and competitive markets.
  • Customer-Centric: Deep understanding of customer needs, with a commitment to driving customer satisfaction through innovative product solutions.
  • Credit Expertise: Extensive experience in credit management and the full lending process, with a strong ability to drive credit and deposit strategies.
