This is a rare expatriate opportunity to join a leading financial institution at the heart of a major transformation agenda.

We are seeking a senior Head of Technology & Investment Finance to act as the strategic finance partner to a large, complex Technology & Investments division supporting a major technology modernisation agenda at this leading bank based in Port Moresby.

Reporting to the Group Head of FP&A and acting as the primary strategic, commercial, and financial advisor to the Technology Leadership Team, you will lead financial strategy, investment governance, and performance management across one of the organisation’s most critical transformation portfolios.

The role is ideally suited to a senior finance leader currently operating within the finance function of a large Technology & Investment division in a complex enterprise environment, supporting technology investment, transformation delivery, and systems modernisation from a financial and commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as strategic finance partner to the Technology Executive team, supporting all major investment and operational decisions
• Lead financial strategy for the Technology & Investments, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
• Oversee end-to-end Technology investment governance, including business case development, approval support, and portfolio tracking
• Drive benefits realisation and performance monitoring across the Technology & Investment portfolio
• Provide forward-looking financial insight to support prioritisation, resource allocation, and investment trade-offs
• Evaluate and challenge Technology spend decisions to ensure optimal balance of cost, value, risk, and strategic alignment
• Support decision-making across legacy systems vs modernisation initiatives, including platform and infrastructure transformation

Technology Finance Focus

• Deep understanding of Technology cost structures and investment models, including:
  • CapEx vs OpEx treatment
  • Software capitalisation
  • Cloud, platform, and licensing models
  • Vendor and commercial contract structures
• Financial oversight of large-scale digital and systems transformation programs
• Robust tracking of investment performance and benefits realisation across complex portfolios

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Technology Officer and Technology Leadership Team reporting
• Influence senior stakeholders across Technology, Finance, Risk, Procurement, and the broader enterprise
• Lead and develop a small Technology Finance team (circa 5)
• Strengthen financial discipline, governance, and commercial capability across the Technology function
• Partner closely with Group Finance and FP&A to ensure alignment to enterprise financial strategy

About You

• Extensive experience in Technology & Investment Finance / Technology Business Partnering within a large, complex organisation
• Currently operating within the finance function closely supporting a CTO-led environment
• Strong background in technology & investment governance, FP&A, and transformation program support
• Deep understanding of Technology delivery models, systems modernisation, and digital investment portfolios
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders on complex investment decisions
• Experience leading or developing small Finance teams in a high-performance environment
• Background in regulated industries (e.g. banking, telecommunications, infrastructure, or similarly complex environments) highly regarded
