We are seeking a competent and flexible individual to fill the vacant position of Health Extension Officer. This position is based in Kimbe, West New Britain Province and reports to the Company Doctor.

HEALTH EXTENSION OFFICER

Job Purpose:

The Health Assistant/Health Extension Officer will support the health and well-being of employees and their families within New Britain Palm Oil Limited's – WNB operations, ensuring adherence to health protocols and providing primary healthcare services.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide basic medical care, first aid, and emergency responses to employees and their dependents.
• Conduct health screenings, medical examinations, and health assessments as required.
• Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of a medical professional or as per established protocols.
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of occupational health and safety programs.
• Educate employees on health promotion, disease prevention, and hygiene practices.
• Maintain accurate medical records and health statistics.
• Assist with the coordination of medical evaluations and referrals to external healthcare providers.
• Participate in health surveillance programs and reporting health trends.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health regulations and company policies.
• Manage and maintain medical supplies and equipment.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Rural Health).
• Current and valid registration/license with PNG Medical Board.
• 5 years or more of experience in a clinical or community health setting, preferably in an industrial or rural environment.
• Proficiency in first aid and emergency care.
• Strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in record-keeping and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to work in a remote or plantation environment.
