World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) has an exciting opportunity for those of you who want a change and want to become part of a dynamic team. We are currently looking for a suitable, qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professional to fill the Health Nutrition Facilitator role to be based in Balimo, Western Province.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To implement and facilitate agricultural nutrition and WASH activities to improve the nutritional status of children under 5 and their mothers within the project sites via better food access through improved production, availability & affordability of diverse nutritional food.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. i) Program Management and Evaluation
  • coordinator to ensure smooth running of the project.
  • Facilitate Nutrition and WASH technical programmes as per the designed Annual Development Plan (AD Plan)
  • Work closely with target communities and households on a regular basis to support them in attaining their goals for nutrition, food diversity/ security, and sustainable agriculture
  • Conduct weekly/monthly monitoring of attendance, active participation and other output indicators; assess quality implementation of activities
  • Conduct regular site visits to project locations to provide technical Nutritional and WASH input, guidance, and coaching to volunteers and partners
  • Provide support to select and adapt curricula and interventions to fit the context, culture, and audience
  • Provide technical support to baselines, mid-term, and end-of-project evaluations.
  1. ii) Quality Assurance
  • Monitor progress and evaluate project objectives, make recommendations as appropriate
  • Design standard/protocols for training interventions, trialed and tested ready for use.
  • Participate and contribute effectively to learning and reflections event in the Area Program and for the project.
  • Assess and provide support to the community members & leaders through regular on-site supervisory and advisory visits to enhance community’s competency

iii) Representation & Networking

  • Serve as community liaison between World Vision and local government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with key local government personnel, local leadership, interest groups and Programme quality staff in the design of appropriate strategies for target population and to enhance programme effectiveness
  1. iv) Documentation
  • Provide monthly statistical and narrative reports on nutritional and agricultural programs
  • Compile and present meeting minutes with stakeholders and workshop or training report on time to project coordinator.
  • Provide monthly progress reports, assist in compilation of quarterly, biannual, annual and end of project report
  1. v) Financial Management
  • Ensure expenditures are within budget and in compliance with financial standards

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in Mother & Child Health Nutrition/Community health or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Working knowledge of the Mother & Child Health and Nutrition situation in the country.
  • Experience working with individuals/groups and able to work and communicate as a team member.
  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
  • Experience in working with the settlements
