Heavy Vehicle Technician

(The proper heavy-duty kind — not the “I’ve seen a truck once” kind)

PNG Motors supports a wide range of heavy vehicles, commercial trucks, and utility fleets across Papua New Guinea. These vehicles operate in demanding conditions — long distances, heavy loads, rough roads, heat, and limited downtime — and they need technicians who know how to keep them running properly.

We’re looking for experienced Heavy Vehicle Technicians to support our workshops across multiple locations.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be working on heavy vehicles and commercial equipment, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer standards. Work will include engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspension, electrical systems, and associated components.

You’ll work both in the workshop and in the field when required, completing job documentation accurately and maintaining strong safety discipline at all times. Breakdowns happen. When they do, the expectation is clear diagnosis and proper repair — not shortcuts.

This is practical, hands-on work in environments where conditions can be tough and schedules matter.

Who This Suits

This role suits someone with genuine heavy vehicle experience. You’re technically capable, methodical, and comfortable working on large equipment under pressure.

You understand the importance of preventative maintenance, safety standards, and quality workmanship. You can work independently, but you also communicate clearly with service teams and supervisors.

If your experience is limited to light vehicles or theory, this won’t be the right role.
