Are you a recent Human Resources graduate ready to launch your career in a dynamic site-based environment?

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our People – Human Resources Services Team at Hidden Valley Mine. Reporting to the HR Supervisor, this role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on exposure across a broad range of HR functions within a professional mining operation.

This position offers practical experience, structured support, and the opportunity to build a strong foundation in Human Resources.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Support the administration of all company provided employee benefits.
  • Provide daily operational and administrative support to the HR Services team.
  • Respond to employee queries in a professional and timely manner (within 24 hours where practicable)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date entries in collaboration with Administration staff and relevant officers to ensure reliable record management.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports as directed.
  • Assist with HR information sessions and employee engagement activities across site.
  • Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support document control processes to ensure compliant and up-to-date documentation
  • Undertake additional administrative duties as required to support team objectives.

You will bring:

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • Recent graduate or up to one (1) year of relevant work experience.
  • Exposure to databases or HR Information Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High levels of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A strong customer service mindset and professional work ethic.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
