We are seeking to recruit for the position of Doctor for our Safety, Health, Security & Risk – Medical Department. Reporting to the Superintendent Health, Hygiene and Medical, the primary objective of this role is to provide medical care to the personnel at Hidden Valley. To provide medical supervision, guidance and leadership to all medical staff at Hidden Valley Medical Clinic. To have overall medical responsibility and authority in all medical matters at Hidden Valley Medical Clinic.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Provide medical leadership and clinical governance for all site medical services.
• Deliver medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and case management for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Lead the response to medical emergencies, trauma incidents, triage and medical evacuations, including responding to emergencies as required, including an on-call 24-hour basis.
• Oversee pre-employment, periodic, statutory and exit medical assessments, including fitness-for-work determinations.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and professional guidance to medical personnel.
• Liaise with external healthcare providers and emergency services to ensure appropriate patient management.
• Ensure compliance with PNG medical legislation, professional standards and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Contribute medical advice to site leadership on workforce health, occupational health and medical risk management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) (Mandatory).
• Current registration and licence to practise with the Papua New Guinea Medical Board (Mandatory).
• Minimum five (5) years' post-registration experience as a medical practitioner (Mandatory).
• Fluent in Tok Pisin and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse workforce (Mandatory)
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and work independently in a remote environment (Mandatory)
• Strong clinical assessment, patient management and medical record documentation skills (Mandatory)
• Experience in occupational health, mining, resources or remote-site healthcare (Desirable)
• Experience using electronic medical record and occupational health management systems (Desirable)
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) / Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Desirable)
• Drug and alcohol testing certification (Desirable)
• PNG Class 6 Driving Licence (Desirable)
