We are seeking to recruit for the position of Parts Interpreter for our Mobile Fleet Maintenance – Planning Department. Reporting to the Senior Planner, the primary objective of this role is responsible for assisting planning with work scoping where materials are required, organizing direct purchasing of spare parts, developing the bill materials, critical spares, and maintenance parts list to support the Asset Management Strategy process.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Assist the planners to scope and plan work orders in the CMMS (Pronto) where spare parts are required
  • Job walk to identify job scope and understand the correct materials required for each task
  • Facilitate and complete the ANSI process to ensure that required spares are catalogued and available as required in store
  • Assist Planners and Supervisors to organise direct purchasing as required
  • Interpret OEM manuals, diagrams, spare parts manuals and other technical documentation relating to equipment spares
  • Develop asset BOM and Critical spares for the mobile fleet and populate in the CMMS (Pronto)
  • Develop maintenance parts lists against specific PM tasks in the CMMS (Pronto) in line with the maintenance strategy
  • Facilitate and drive (in coordination) with the warehouse team to improve the availability of spares for the upcoming weekly maintenance schedule
  • Participate in the ongoing auditing and stock taking of spares outside of the main MFM store

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Prior experience in machinery servicing or parts interpretation, knowledge of machinery with spare part management and the general supply chain
  • Familiar in planning and scheduling applications
  • Understand CMMS preferably Pronto and knowledge in data management of CMMS Systems
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and focus on task setting and tracking to completion
  • Excellent technical problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills, - Microsoft (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, proactive, and possess strong attention to detail skills

The above role is Hidden Valley Site based.

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
