We are currently seeking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor for our Fixed Plant Maintenance – OLC & Crusher Department. Reporting to the Mechanical Specialist, the primary objective of this role is to lead a team of tradesmen within the Maintenance Department on rotating shifts to complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Utilise Harmony Gold safety systems and procedures.
• Report all accidents and incidents, no matter how minor.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area at all times.
• Identify and report unsafe or defective tooling to Superintendent.
• Capable of locating, reading and understanding technical drawings, repair procedures, technical data and MSDS Data Sheets.
• Ensure compliance to site Work Management System.
• Control work flow to fully utilize equipment under repair and crew.
• Perform maintenance tasks on responsible equipment.
• Have the ability to evaluate equipment damage, to access the necessary repairs.
• Maintain all tooling and proper storage when not in use.
• Provide accurate and concise written feedback on work orders, with history notes on hours worked, work performed, parts used and status of job or equipment condition.
• Participate in the development of employee training plans.
• Provide informative handovers to supervisor or other trades persons.
• Run shift crews in a safe and efficient manner.
• Trouble shooting of equipment problems.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

• Fitter Machinist by Trade with trade certificate from PNG National Apprenticeship Trade Testing Board (NATTB).
• Minimum 2 years or more experience in a similar role, preferably within the Mining industry
• Demonstrate sound technical skills with the ability to trouble shoot & improvise on critical situations
• Have the ability to evaluate and scope equipment damage, to access the necessary repairs
• Sound planning and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrate supervisory abilities with leadership and motivation qualities.
• Demonstrate matured approach and strong self-discipline
• Basic computing skills, with basic knowledge on MS Excel
• Good oral and written communications skills in English and Tok Pisin
