We are seeking to recruit a Mine Control Operator – Level 1, for our MINING – Dispatch Department. Reporting to the Mine Control Specialist, the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the optimization of the shovel and truck fleet, maintaining effective communication with the Operations team and providing a safe work place by monitoring critical controls at Hidden Valley Mine site.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Work closely with Mine Control Specialist and Mine Control Engineers to ensure that the system has maximum equipment availability time and records accurate data.
• Develop & maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all mining operations to promote effective decision making
• Promptly communicate any equipment maintenance requirements that become evident through the use of the production monitoring system.
• Monitor and manage the Modular system to ensure that productivity and cost reduction gains are being fully realized by the use of the system
• Ensure that all production data is captured accurately throughout a shift and ensure that the data is available in a timely manner for daily KPI reporting
• Monitor Safety Alert Systems installed in the Control Room
• Mentor and Guide Mine Control Trainees
• Be pro-active in all aspects of operational safety and work as a team

Qualification, Skills and Experience required:

• Minimum Higher School certificate qualification, of either Grade 10 or above
• Modular experience with current Modular L1 or above Certification
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Mine Controller in mining industry.
• Minimum of 3 years working in a Open Pit Mining Company.
• Able to liaise and interact with Mine Supervisors, Mine Superintendents, Maintenance and other personal.
• Able to monitor other Safety control Emergency Alert systems and follow callout procedures
• Computer literate in MS Word, Excel
• Demonstrate high work ethic in attendance & punctuality and good interpersonal skills
• Be safety conscious
• Willing to work with a flexible company roster and to varying hours to accomplish goals
• Be a team player, fostering diverse abilities
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Strong communication skills both written & oral, in English
• Prompt and punctual with time management
