We are seeking to recruit a Surveillance Technician for our Safety, Health, Security & Risk (SHSR) Department – Asset Protection Section. Reporting to the APD Superintendent, the successful applicant will mainly be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance and preventative maintenance of all Security equipment.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

• Install video surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems to meet applicable standards and codes. Test and inspect systems upon completion of installation to assure quality and proper operation.
• Assure that all equipment is in compliance with the Internal Control Standards and the Maximum Internal Control Standards set by ITC
• Notifies the APD Management of any equipment malfunctions and documents a list of equipment or parts needed in a timely manner
• Work closely with the APD Investigations and Operations departments
• Observe and comply with safety regulations and maintenance procedures. Recommend improvements to management.
• Be available to assist in all areas of service and installation as needed.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

• Grade 12 Level Qualification
• Tertiary qualification in electronics or equivalent – Desirable
• Have a good understanding of equipment and safety regulations pertaining to the work performed
• Have 2 or more years of experience with CCTV installation, alarm system & troubleshooting
• Network skills and understanding in computers, IP addresses, routers, modems and port settings
• Have experience in programming of various DVR types
• Computer application skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to prioritise and work unsupervised
• Ability to demonstrate a work ethic and planning skills
• Communication skills including written, verbal and listening
• Current PNG Driver’s Licence (Class 6) – Desirable
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills

The above role is Hidden Valley mine site based
