We are seeking to recruit an ICT Infrastructure Specialist, for our Commercial - ICT Department. Reporting to the ICT Operations Superintendent, the successful applicant will be supporting the continual improvement of the ICT systems and networks at Hidden Valley Mine. The role is responsible for developing and coaching the ICT team while demonstrating customer facing values and ensuring a timely response to support inquires. Providing technical support for site infrastructure, systems, networks, storage and technical guidance on all technology related projects is a key component of this role.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the Communications Infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for the site, including working with service providers and Telco Carriers to ensure that the network is stable and highly available
- Providing level 2 & 3 support for Wide and Local Area Networks
- Develop, test and implement regular firmware upgrades
- Assist in the support of all Harmony owned IT facilities such as Data Centres, Communications Rooms, Microwave & VSAT installations
- Proving technical assistance to other Harmony Gold sites if required
- Actioning assigned tasks with a focus on quality and timeliness
- Responsible for ensuring that site infrastructure documentation is accurate and maintained at all times
- Reporting all breaches of security or improper use including inappropriate files, internet or email use
- Proficient with Microsoft, Cisco, Ubiquiti and Fortinet Products
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- At minimum of 5 years’ experience in Level 2/3 support of ICT network technologies (Cisco, Fortinet)
- Exposure to satellite and wireless (Ubiquiti) technologies and mining systems (Modular, CAS, Fatigue Management, GPS)
- Prior experiences working in a challenging mining environment in deploying and supporting Network, Server & Storage Infrastructure
- Exposure to analogue and digital 2-way radio systems
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have the ability to work under pressure and prioritised workload
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have a current Drivers License

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
