ATMI Engineering Services Ltd. is seeking a motivated, organised and safety-focused HSEQ Coordinator to join our team and support our construction, electrical, mechanical, maintenance and project operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and workers to help ensure HSEQ requirements are understood, implemented and maintained throughout project execution.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, technically competent, organised and accountable. The successful candidate must be able to assess planned work activities, identify hazards and determine the appropriate Risk Assessment, JSEA/JSA, SWMS, PTW and activity-specific permits without requiring step-by-step direction from Management.

KEY EXPECTATIONS

  • Plan and prepare HSEQ requirements before mobilisation.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Operations and Site Supervisors to understand the actual work methodology and site conditions.
  • Ensure HSEQ documentation is complete, reviewed, approved and available before deployment.
  • Conduct site inspections, inductions, toolbox meetings and pre-start briefings.
  • Ensure workers understand and acknowledge applicable HSEQ documentation and controls.
  • Enforce compliance and exercise Stop Work Authority where necessary.
  • Professionally coordinate HSEQ requirements with clients and principal contractors.
  • Manage incidents, near misses, corrective actions, HSEQ registers, statistics and compliance records.
  • Support ISO/IMS implementation, internal audits and external certification requirements.
  • Take ownership of HSEQ matters from project planning through execution and close-out.

This position involves practical site-based HSEQ work and is not purely an administrative or documentation role.

Candidates should be comfortable working in an active project environment, communicating with workers and supervisors, conducting inspections and learning to identify hazards and appropriate controls.

Training and guidance will be provided where required, but candidates must demonstrate initiative, accountability and a genuine commitment to workplace health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma, Degree or relevant Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Recognised HSE/OHS qualification or certification.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of HSEQ/OHS experience, preferably in construction, electrical, mechanical, civil, infrastructure or maintenance environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge and demonstrated experience in Risk Assessments, JSEA/JSA, SWMS and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
  • Practical understanding of Hot Work, Excavation, Working at Heights, LOTO, site inspections, toolbox talks, inductions, incident/near-miss investigation, corrective action/NCR management, HSEQ reporting and document control.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 / Integrated Management Systems will be highly regarded.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general document management.
  • Willingness to learn, take responsibility and develop practical HSEQ skills.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application, including a cover letter, updated resume, copies of relevant qualifications and credentials, and the contact details of three (3) current referees, to Human Resource email [email protected]

Please clearly indicate the position title you are applying for in the subject line of your email.
