Monier Limited, the single largest producer, supplier and distributer of construction materials and building products in PNG is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the following position:

Human Resource Manager

To assist the Management in providing Human Resources advises and directions in line with Policy in all HR matters including; Selection & recruitment, induction of new employees, industrial and employee relations, employee development, training, review and formulation of HR Policies, Organizational Structures, development and management of performance management systems, Remuneration & Benefits, headcount management, leave liabilities reports, review of salary structure, HR Admin and payroll related duties.

Duties include;

  • Manage employee & industrial relations, recruitment and induction of new employees within context of established HR processes and in consultation with respective departmental Managers and Supervisors.
  • Manage employee development, succession planning and training in consultation with managers and Management.
  • Review of existing policies, code of conduct and formulation of new Policies in consultation with management.
  • Work with General Manager to implement and facilitate a salary & remuneration review and performance management process in line with policy.
  • Develop and implement HR interventions designed to drive long term performance including talent and succession management, engagement, reward & recognition.
  • Ensure staff compliance with policy, processing and delivery of services.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement in Human Resources.
  • Ensure communication of established HR policies & processes across the company.
  • Provide leadership and clear direction in order to maintain efficient work practices, productive work output and a high level of staff morale.
  • Drive and maintain a robust harmonious company & people culture.
  • Actively adhere to, and promote, Monier’s Integrated Management System (IMS) including the maintenance of company HR procedures and process controls.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Diploma or Degree in Psychology or Human Resources Management and/or Business Management or any other Business Related.
  • Strong understanding of strong Human Resources Best Practices
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in all areas of Human Resources including Labour & Employee Relations.
  • Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team.
  • Ability to work well at all levels.
  • Conceptual, Innovative thinker and open to new ideas.
  • Resourceful.
