MANAGER HUMAN RESOURCES
The National Development Bank Limited (“NDB”) of Papua New Guinea invites suitable candidates for the vacant position of Manager Human Resources.
The Manager Human Resources will manage and maintain staffing requirements of the Bank whilst simultaneously ensuring that staff welfare through effective HR Policies and operating procedures are attended to promptly. The incumbent’s actions and activities are usually guided by the set policies, practices (precedence) and Management directives or decisions. Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Key responsibilities;
- Provide Human Resource Services such as Recruitment, Payroll, Leave Management and Performance Management to the Business Units of the Bank within set policies and procedures to enable the Bank to achieve its mandated objectives.
- Based on a Competency Based Training Needs Analysis, effectively and efficiently facilitate and coordinate the training and development activities of the Bank to ensure that it has a highly skilled and trained workforce that is vibrant and productive.
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
Required Attributes
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree in Human Resource Management /Organizational Psychology or other related field of study acceptable to the Bank.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the Human Resource Management role.
- Excellent Management skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent negotiation/Industrial relations skills
- Knowledge of CHRIS 21
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills with excellent command of spoken and written English.
- High level of computer skills would be an advantage.
- Knowledgeable of Employment Act, Industrial relations Act and other related Law in the PNG Labor Laws
