Hydrostatic Test Technician

2. Role Overview
   
   We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Hydrostatic Test Technician to join our Calibration and Testing Department at our Motukea facility. Reporting to the Senior Calibration & Testing Technician, this hands-on workshop role is responsible for the safe and accurate pressure testing of hose assemblies, valves, pressure relief valves, pressure vessels, and other pressure-containing items, in accordance with company procedures and applicable industry standards.
   
   
3. Key Responsibilities

• Hydrostatic testing of hydraulic, industrial, composite, and UHP hose assemblies.
• Pressure and destructive testing of offshore floating hose assemblies.
• Seat and shell pressure testing of valves.
• Setting, adjustment, and testing of spring-loaded pressure relief valves.
• Pressure testing of vessels, accumulators, and similar pressure-containing items.
• Pneumatic pressure testing under direct supervision when required.
• Test setup, isolation, air purging, and controlled pressurisation of items under test.
• Accurate data logging and documentation of test parameters and results.
• Calibration verification, care, and maintenance of all test equipment.
• Workshop and laboratory support as required.
• Adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
  
  

4. Qualifications & Experience

• Trade qualification in a mechanical, fitting, hydraulic, or related discipline preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in pressure testing, valve servicing, or a comparable workshop environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a methodical, safety-first approach to work.
• Clear understanding of the hazards of pressurised systems and stored energy.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025, AS 1271, AS 3788, API 527) an advantage.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures and accurately complete test worksheets, with computer literacy in Excel and digital data-logging software.
• Good written and verbal English, and the physical capability for workshop work.
• Valid Driver's Licence an advantage.
