We are looking for a capable and motivated ICT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Port Moresby. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the ICT infrastructure that keeps our organisation and our clients running at their best. This includes servers, storage area networks, backup systems, and communication platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy data centre, server, backup, and storage area network (SAN) projects aligned with organisational objectives.
- Implement and manage virtualised server environments using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Administer cloud and productivity services including Microsoft Office 365, MS Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, and endpoint security solutions.
- Monitor and maintain ICT infrastructure proactively, performing regular system updates, patches, and backups to minimise downtime.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity measures including firewalls, antivirus systems, data encryption, and conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support, troubleshooting and resolving escalated infrastructure issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Lead ICT infrastructure projects from planning through to completion, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
- Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure — including network diagrams, server configurations, and system processes — and produce regular performance reports for management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in ICT infrastructure engineering, including networking, server administration, and cloud technologies.
- Proficiency in virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading or participating in technical project management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- VMware or Nutanix certification
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Office Suite
- Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+
- Any relevant cloud or cybersecurity certification
