About the Role

The University now seeks an experienced and motivated ICT Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of ICT services across all campuses.

This role provides strategic leadership in the development and management of ICT systems that support teaching, research, and administrative functions. The successful candidate will oversee the work of ICT and Library staff, ensure effective technology integration, and drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance institutional efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure and systems.
• Ensure the reliability, security, and accessibility of networks, servers, and online learning platforms.
• Supervise and develop ICT and Library staff to maintain high-quality support services.
• Manage ICT budgets, contracts, and procurement in line with university and public sector standards.
• Develop, implement, and enforce ICT policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with information security and data protection requirements.
• Support University-wide capacity building and digital literacy initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in managing ICT operations within a complex organization.
• Exposure to a university environment or higher education setting will be highly regarded.
• Sound knowledge of networking, servers, virtualization, Microsoft environments, and cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Certification or experience in Cisco technologies is desirable but not essential.

Salary Range:

K72,345 – K88,422 per annum (plus applicable allowances and benefits)
