JOB SUMMARY:
An ICT support technician provides technical assistance and support to users of computer and web technologies, diagnosing and resolving technical issues. They are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networks, as well as installing and configuring systems. Their role often involves interacting with users, providing guidance, and ensuring efficient use of technology.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ICT Support
- Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving hardware, software, and network problems for end-users.
- Installation and Configuration:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, software, and peripherals.
- User Support:
Providing technical assistance and guidance to users on various IT-related issues.
- Network Management:
Implementing and maintaining computer networks, ensuring efficient connectivity and performance.
- Hardware Maintenance:
Repairing and replacing faulty hardware components, such as terminals, printers, and modems.
- Documentation:
Creating and maintaining documentation related to IT systems, procedures, and user guides.
- Communication:
Effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical users.
- Proactive Maintenance:
Implementing preventative measures and recommending improvements to enhance system performance and prevent future issues.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
ICT
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and operating systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with users and colleagues.
- Customer Service: Strong focus on providing excellent customer service and support.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills quickly.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or similar
- Certifications:CompTIA A+, CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) or similar
- Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in hardware/software troubleshooting, Windows systems, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, cabling). New graduates without experience are also welcome with a
‘can do’ and positive attitude.
This position is available for immediate start with conditions commensurate with experience.
