INDUSTRIAL PAINTER SUPERVISOR

Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading industrial painting and coating operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role reports to the Workshop Manager – Fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily painting activities
• Manage painting crews and provide coaching and guidance to the team
• Oversee surface preparation, abrasive blasting, priming, and coating applications

• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with project specifications and corrosion protection requirements.
• Enforce safety procedures and correct use of PPE and respiratory protection equipment
• Plan and schedule painting activities to meet project deadlines
• Monitor paint stocks, coating materials, and consumables
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Ensure quality workmanship and productivity targets are achieved.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 10/12 Certificate.
• Tradesman Certificate in Panel Beating & Spray Painting or related trade
• Minimum five (5) years' supervisory experience in industrial painting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, surface preparation, and abrasive blasting
• Relevant safety certifications, including Confined Space and Working at Heights training
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
