Atlas PNG, part of Kenmore Limited, operates in steel manufacturing, fabrication, construction and turnkey housing through Steel Haus and Framex. Our work depends on steel products and structures being prepared, coated and finished properly—not simply made to look good for handover.

We’re looking for experienced Industrial Painters and Sandblasters to join our Lae operation.

This is not an entry-level role or an opportunity to learn on the job. It is for people who already understand abrasive blasting, surface preparation, paint mixing and industrial coating standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll prepare steel surfaces for coating by cleaning, masking and abrasive blasting them to the required standard. You’ll safely set up, operate and maintain sandblasting and industrial painting equipment.

You’ll mix and apply coatings correctly, maintain the required micron thickness and check your work to ensure it meets the job specifications and quality standards.

When production is busy—and it will be—you’ll need to work efficiently without cutting corners. You’ll follow safety procedures, look after the equipment and report defects or problems before they affect the finished product.

The expectation is simple: every surface is prepared correctly, every coating is properly applied and every job meets the required standard.

Who This Suits

This suits someone with at least five years of hands-on industrial painting or sandblasting experience.

You understand surface preparation, abrasive blasting and industrial coating application. You know how to mix paint correctly and achieve consistent micron readings. A relevant trade certificate will be an advantage.

You’re physically fit, able to work under pressure and capable of following technical and safety instructions. You communicate clearly, work well with others and take responsibility for the quality of your work.

You don’t cover up poor preparation with another coat of paint. You do the job properly from the beginning.
