We are looking for a diligent Internal Audit Officer (x2) to join our Internal Audit team and ensure the effectiveness of our internal controls and processes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Internal Audit, the Internal Audit Officer will support the internal audit function by helping with data collection, performing fieldwork, preparing reports, ensuring thorough audit coverage and developing audit skills for future roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute internal audit plans and programs to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of potential risk and vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate risks and strengthen controls.
- Assist in audit engagements by performing basic audit procedures under the supervision of senior officers.
- Gather and organise relevant financial and operational data, records, and supporting documents to facilitate audit analysis.
- Support in identifying control weaknesses by documenting observations and findings for senior review.
- Assist in reviewing process for adherence to internal policies, procedures and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate working papers to document audit procedures performed and evidence obtained.
- Work effectively with the audit team and other stakeholders to support audit activities.
- Assist in coordinating with auditees by requesting necessary documents and clarifications.
- Participate in internal training programs, seek guidance from senior auditors and stay updated on basic audit principles and practices.
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling audit assignments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Management or related field.
- Relevant Certifications in auditing (e.g. CIP, CPA) – Highly Preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in internal audit, external audit, risk or related field ideally in the Banking and financial Service Industry.
- Experience in conducting financial, operational and compliance audits is an advantage.
- Familiar with fundamental audit concepts, risk assessment and internal controls.
- Has strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities to assess risk, evaluate internal controls and identifying process weaknesses.
- Ability to accurately collect, review and document audit evidence.
- Ability to communicate audit findings and technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with office equipment’s and Microsoft Office Suit. (Word, excel, power point, etc.)
