We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our HSES, Quality, and Risk Department. This position is based in Port Moresby and may involve occasional travel to our operational site.
Internal Audit Officer
Job Summary
The Internal Auditor is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting audits across all KutMor systems, policies, and processes to ensure compliance with internal standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory obligations.
This role focuses solely on independent assurance, identifying non-conformances, evaluating effectiveness of controls, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
Key Responsibility Areas
Internal Audits and Compliance:
- Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits across all business functions.
- Define audit scope, criteria, and methodologies.
- Ensure audits align with ISO 9001:2015 and other applicable standards.
Audit Execution:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the QMS.
- Analyse quality data and metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Drive a culture of quality and continual improvement across all functions.
Reporting:
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Communicate audit outcomes to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain audit records and documentation.
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA):
- Monitor and verify implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Assess effectiveness of corrective actions.
Risk and Control Evaluation:
- Evaluate effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
- Identify gaps and recommend improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with function heads and employees during audits.
Provide guidance on compliance requirements without compromising independence.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in quality management, engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Internal Auditor / Certified Quality Auditor preferred.
- Strong experience in auditing systems and processes.
- Experience with auditing ISO standards is a bonus.
- Strong auditing and investigation skills
- Knowledge of ISO standards

- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
