MTIS PNG is seeking a dedicated and proactive Inventory Manager to join our team in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The role will be critical ensuring the security, accuracy, and efficiency of our inventory warehouse operation, and will directly contribute to our operational success.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the Inventory Manager is the cornerstone of our warehouse inventory operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust inventory control policies, meticulously managing our ERP system, and leading a team to maintain the highest standards of inventory accuracy and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by optimising stock levels, minimizing obsolescence, and enhancing overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive inventory control strategies and procedures.
- Overseeing and enforcing stringent security protocols for all warehouse inventory.
- Managing and maintaining the ERP system for all inventory data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conducting regular inventory audits and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies.
- Coordinating closely with Purchasing for optimal stock replenishment.
- Managing aged and obsolete inventory in line with company policy.
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations and maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards.
- Training,supervising,and mentoring Warehouse Officers and Assistants.
- Generating insightful inventory reports for senior management.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years in inventory management, or warehouse operations.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory inventory role.
- Proven expertise in ERP systems for inventory control is essential.
- Strong analytical skills for demand forecasting and optimization.
- Experience with physical inventory audits and cycle counting.
Skills:
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to details.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective leadership and team development skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Suit (especially Excel).
- Solid understanding of warehousing safety and best practices.
- Good communication skills.
