Investment Analyst

Comrade Trustee Services Limited (CTSL), as Trustee for the Defence Force Retirement Benefit Fund (DFRBF), is seeking to hire an experienced, highly motivated individual with proven track record in performance to join the team of professionals in CTSL as an Investment Analyst.

Responsibilities Summary

The Investment Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the management of the company's investment portfolio, managing risk, undertake financial research and report on prospective investment avenues and maximizing returns. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial markets, and the ability to make informed investment recommendations in line with the company's investment objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager Investments, the role of the Investment Analyst is to:

• Assist in the management of the company's investment portfolio, including asset allocation, security selection, and risk management strategies.
• Conduct thorough research, analysis and reporting of financial markets, investment products, and economic trends to identify investment opportunities and risks.
• Assist develop and implement investment strategies that align with the company's risk tolerance, investment objectives, and performance goals.
• Perform due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial analysis, valuation, and assessment of key investment risks.
• Monitor the performance of the investment portfolio on an ongoing basis and make necessary adjustments to optimize returns and manage risk.
• Prepare regular reports on the performance of the investment portfolio for internal stakeholders, including investment committee members and senior management.
• Prepare financial modelling to assist with decision making.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures related to investment management and portfolio construction.
• Stay abreast of developments in financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements through ongoing education and professional development activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize investment strategies and achieve financial objectives.

Qualification and Experience

The ideal candidate must at a minimum satisfy the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven track record of success in an investment analyst role, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk management strategies.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and economic trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex investment concepts and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Bloomberg, and Excel.
• Relevant certifications (CIPM, CFI) are a plus.
