Steamships Trading Company is in search of a proven, capable and results-driven individual for the role of an IT Operations Support Team Lead to provide supervisory role and support in the operations section and address issues related to the functions and objectives of the operations.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an IT Operations Support Team Lead located in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. As an IT Operations Support Team Lead, you will ensure that the daily tasks in the operations shift log are completed – these include spot checks, UPS checks, genset fuel reading and ensuring general upkeeping of the data centres.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in similar position and/or IT Support
• Experience, knowledge and/or understanding of Veeam backup and replication solutions and/or other computer backup applications and processes.
• Experience, knowledge and/or understanding in systems and network monitoring and use of monitoring applications such as PRTG.
• Have a basic knowledge of Windows and/or Unix OS Administration.
• Ability to trouble shoot backup issues related to VMs and/or flat files

Qualifications and Key Competencies

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
• Hold ICT Certifications and relevant Trainings
• Posses PC and Networking Skills
• Ability to trouble shoot and resolve problems
• Must be proactive, ability to identify red flags
• Proven verbal and written communication skills
• Must be customer services oriented
