Our Lihir operation in IT – Site Technology Department is now recruiting for the position of IT Planner & Support for a FIFO role based onsite.

Reporting to the Superintendent Technology, you will be responsible to provide support to the site technology team to capture, document, evaluate and suggest potential areas for improvement to current business processes simplifying/reducing overhead times for the site technology team to optimize overall service delivery. Manages, maintains and optimizes the IT warehouse and logistics processes for the issuing of site IT equipment. Manages vendor relationships and service contracts as required by manager and other department leads.

The role will have responsibility to:

  • Support regulatory and corporate compliance initiatives related to information and content assets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and escalating process and service quality gaps and providing solutions when possible.
  • Adhere to Newmont Regional Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Consistently demonstrate and encourage safe work practices.
  • Promote and comply with Newmont's goals and values.
  • Oversee and maintain the technology warehouse inventory and logistics processes, manage logistics queues and customer equipment orders in ServiceNow, and monitor technology consumables and VIP stock levels in SAP.
  • Coordinate with technology team leads to ensure the availability and logistics of department personnel and equipment between field offices during business and project travel.
  • Manage critical parts planning, ordering, and inventory management for preventative and reactive maintenance for post-project support.
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery on project tasks to site standards.
  • Capture, document, and review business processes, recommending improvements where optimization can be introduced.
  • Participate in providing training and support to end users on technology processes and procedures as required

Essential criteria

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;

  • Relevant qualifications in Office Administration or Project Management from a recognized institution.
  • 3-5 years of experience in roles requiring coordination and planning, or 10+ years of experience in office administration.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory role or project management.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite and SAP.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and coordination skills.
  • Creative and conceptual thinker.
  • Familiarity with IT procurement processes and inventory management.

The Requirement

  • Must be available for FIFO to Lihir
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
