IT Support Officer
The IT Division is seeking to recruit a qualified IT Support Officer based in Port Moresby. The IT Support Officer must ensure that an organisation’s IT systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. So, employees can perform their work without interruptions. They serve as the first point of contact for technical issues and play a key role in maintaining the overall IT service levels.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Perform IT Operational Support duties / assigned responsibilities.
- Prioritise allocated tickets based upon priority and due dates
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and other IT issues raised in tickets
- Set up new users in Active Directory
- Create email accounts
- Set up and configure IT end-user systems hardware/software
- Provide recommendations for hardware upgrades and replacements
- Run cabling
- Record support activities against tickets and maintain SLAs.
- Perform IT Project duties as allocated by GM IT
- Document processes, monitoring and housekeeping requirements
- Ensure users follow correct support processes
- Provide IT orientation to new users
- Keep IT offices clean and neat
- Ensure documentation of diagrams and charts required
- Complete hand over logs when last shift of the day detailing any issues or key priorities for the first staff member on duty.
- Communication of staff movements.
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent
- Relevant professional qualification at graduate level
- At least 2 years work experience.
- CompTIA or equivalent
