ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and IT infrastructure within the financial institution. The role also involves assisting users, managing IT service requests, and ensuring security compliance in line with the organization's policies and financial regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide first-level technical support to employees, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Log, track, and resolve IT service requests in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining and managing the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on IT systems, hardware, and applications.
- Assist in regular data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with financial industry IT security policies and best practices.
- Provide IT support and guidance to employees on system usage, software applications, and cybersecurity awareness.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for IT equipment procurement and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of IT inventory, support requests, and issue resolutions.
- Assist in preparing IT reports and documentation for management and audits.
- Document IT processes, guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or system administration, preferably in a financial institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high IT security standards.
