Job Summary:

NextGen Technology Limited is seeking a highly skilled and proactive IT Support Officer with a strong background in domain hosting to join our team.

The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance and customer support related to domain configuration, email setup, server security, and web hosting management. This role requires experience in DNS management, WHM/cPanel environments, and troubleshooting deliverability issues. Experience with Microsoft 365 setup and basic website development are strong pluses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide email and technical support for clients experiencing issues related to hosting, domain services, and email configuration.
• Configure and manage domain name settings, including DNS records (A, MX,CNAME, TXT, etc.), registrar setup, and name servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve email delivery issues, spam problems, and perform diagnostics using tools such as mail logs, DNS lookups, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and SMTP traces.
• Perform hosting-related tasks such as creating and managing hosting accounts via WHM/cPanel, backups, resource monitoring, and server optimization.
• Implement and maintain server security best practices including firewall configuration, SSL installation, malware protection, and intrusion detection.
• Regularly monitor servers for performance, uptime, and security vulnerabilities.
• Assist with Microsoft 365 setup and migration, including DNS configuration, tenant setup, and mail flow.
• Assist with website creation or migration tasks when needed (WordPress or static HTML websites preferred).
• Document procedures, configurations, and resolutions for internal and client reference.
• Liaise with third-party providers (registrars, cloud vendors) as needed to resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of domain registration and DNS configuration.
• Experience with email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP) and tools to test deliverability.
• Proficiency in WHM, cPanel, and other web hosting control panels.
• Understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SSL, and general web/email security concepts.
• Hands-on experience with server hardening, firewalls, and security monitoring tools.
• Basic web development or website management skills (HTML/CSS, WordPress,etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, DNS setup, migration) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing support.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
• Willingness to stay updated on hosting and domain technology trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in IT support, particularly in domain hosting or web hosting environments.
• Certifications such as cPanel Professional Certification, CompTIA Security+, or relevant Linux administration certifications are a plus.
