We are a major construction company based in Lae, Morobe Province delivering major infrastructure and building projects across Papua New Guinea. Our Crossroad Hotel Division is looking for a highly organized, proactive and creative Chef to join the team and take on this challenge to next level in the restaurant industry.

What You'll Do

As part of Crossroads Hotel team, our ideal candidate for this role must:

• Have experience in a full facility hotel restaurant operation
• Have undergone formal training in this field of expertise as Chef and attained formal qualifications
• Experienced in innovative Western/Asian / Local menus for a mixed clientele of local and overseas guests.
• Experienced and capable in menu preparation, stock purchasing and control
• Qualified and knowledgeable in strict food hygiene requirements and restaurant presentation to international standards
• Capable of managing a medium size catering team of National Cooks and support crew
• Capable of arranging function and banquet food/beverages

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of Grade 10
• Vocational or Technical Certificate/Diploma in Catering, Tourism & Hospitality/ Commercial Cookery Certificate
• 3-5 years’ work experience in similar role
• Have excellent cooking skills
• Must be able to work in a team and poses exceptional Customer Service skills   
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal communication
• Relevant workplace safety, health and environment policies and regulations
• Exceptional Customer Service skills and experience, preferably in similar industry
• Presentation and time management skills
• Team management skill
