The Role
Our client is searching for an ambitious Junior Port Engineer to join their team in Port Moresby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging talent to learn from seasoned experts, contribute to the maintenance and efficiency of crucial port assets and build a rewarding career in a fast-paced environment.
The Successful person will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the Warehouse store, managing vessel parts, vessel inspections and arranging tug maintenance in port. This role ensures that vessel safety management and operations meet the needs of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and coordinating maintenance and repair activities for the ASD tugs.
- Support senior engineers in inspecting vessels for safety, performance, and compliance with maritime regulations.
- Help manage equipment inventory, spare parts, and maintenance records.
- Participate in dry-docking operations, vessel testing, and routine inspections.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers under supervision to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
- Maintain technical documentation and assist in preparing reports on vessel performance and maintenance schedules.
- Marine Engineer Class 2 (Regulations III/3, III/2)
- ASD Tug boat experience or knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of marine systems (propulsion, electrical, and hydraulic systems).
- Familiarity with maritime safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Computer applications.
- Willingness to work in dynamic port environments and occasionally onboard vessels to meet deadlines.
