We are seeking to recruit for the position of Disposals & Compliance Officer for our Commercial – Procurement Department.

Reporting to the Disposal Project Lead, the primary purpose of the role is to ensure that all asset disposals comply with governance frameworks, legislative and audit requirements, anti-corruption controls, and deliver optimal commercial outcomes. The responsibilities include end-to-end governance, process assurance, compliance oversight and value-for-money assurance across the Harmony Gold Asset Disposals Project.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Establish and maintain asset disposal governance frameworks
  • Provide compliance and process assurance
  • Ensure value-for-money and commercial defensibility
  • Implement anti-corruption and probity controls
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation
  • Identify and mitigate governance risks
  • Support stakeholder reporting and decision-making

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:

  • Degree in Law, Finance, Commerce, Auditing, Governance or similar
  • Experience in governance, risk, compliance or audit
  • Experience with large projects or asset disposals
  • Possess high integrity and attention to detail skills
  • Have strong analytical and communication skills
  • Possess independent and ethical judgement

This role is Lae based but visits to the Hidden Valley Mine Site will be a requirement.

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
