We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join Capex Solutions Limited, a growing construction company established in Papua New Guinea. We are engaged in projects across the spectrum of Commercial, Residential, Civil, Industrial and Mining sectors.

The role

As the lead Quantity Surveyor, you will effectively manage and monitor costs of the project, direct and manage a small design and project team which involves preparing cost plans and reviewing of tender applications. You will also be liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors, managing works to the contract and finalising commercial close of projects.

What you’ll do

• Preparing estimate costs plans and bills of quantities;
• Preparing and reviewing tender applications;
• Providing leadership to your design and project team of estimators, draftsmen, project managers
• Contractual administration;
• Fostering relationships with our partners to ensure repeat business;
• Measuring & valuing variations;
• Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for contractors and subcontractors
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget

What you’ll bring

• A degree or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field from an accredited institution
• At least 10 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects at once
• Strong skills in building budgets, timelines and schedules, with sharp attention to detail
• Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations, and a sound understanding of OH&S/WHS
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to build solid relationships with your team, suppliers and clients
• A self-motivated, organised and solutions-focused approach, comfortable working autonomously

Living and working in PNG

This is a residential, full-time role based in Lae and is open to PNG Citizens and Expatriates. Some projects may require visits to, or living at, remote camps. You will thrive here if you are adaptable, enjoy working with a diverse local team, and want to make a long-term home in Papua New Guinea.
