K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. About the role

The successful person with be responsible for ensuring safe handling of the explosives to efficiently charge the blast holes in the development drilled face and stope holes, in this role you will ensure charge up operators are trained and supervised in both development and production blasts, transport, and handling of explosives, maintaining underground firing lines, and carrying outshot firing duties

Key / Major Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.

• Development and production charging
• Safe and efficient handling, transport and storage of explosives and blasting agents
• Ensure compliance and implementation of site blasting and evacuation procedures
• Conducts preparation for blast holes in accordance with site procedures to minimise misfires and improve utilisation of explosives
• Maintaining work relationship with all working crews during shift hours.
• Ongoing communication with supervisors.
• Housekeeping as per standard.

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you must obtain a minimum qualification of Grade 10 or above and you must have an active explosive handling permit, with a minimum of 2-years' experience in the similar role. You must also have a very good understanding of explosive management act/standards and a good understanding of different explosives. In addition to this, you will have some or all the following.

• Must have a good understanding of sequencing and blast patterns and the delays.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Experience with Stope charging, stope mining and rise mining.
• Ability to lead and coach a team with diverse skills.
