What you’ll do:

This role is a rational role that oversees and reviews the outsourced daily field inspections on fixed plant and assets across the PNG development and Operations division to improve facility and gathering systems integrity, reliability, proves safety performance and the optimisation of lifecycle costs.

This role will be based on site at the Iagifu Ridge on a 28/28 day roster.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Develop, lead and coordinate inspection and NDT services contractors to perform in-service inspections on all field assets.
  • Responsible for developing routine and campaign inspection execution strategies.
  • Review and provide input into inspection scope of work and work instructions.
  • Responsible for implementing Anomaly Management Procedure based on inspection findings and recommend remedial actions.
  • Responsible for ensuring inspection execution adheres to maintenance and integrity planning schedules.
  • Maintain effective Inspection Data Management System.
  • Responsible for timely effective communication with Field Operation Management, Maintenance and Planning teams.
  • Review health of Mechanical Integrity programs and provide appropriate recommendations, mitigations, and timely updates on equipment degradation problems.
  • Oversee the inspection of the Safety Critical Element Integrity Plan, using Safety Critical Elements derived from the Basis for Safe Operations Procedure.
  • Mentor and support POM Based National Integrity engineers and provide support for National Technicians in acquiring accredited Inspection qualifications.
  • Conduct and manage Field Verification of inspection and NDT results and findings.

What you’ll bring:

The ideal candidate for this role will have substantial experience in in-service inspection of onshore and offshore assets, proven ability to lead high performing teams, and working knowledge of maintenance SAP system. Your ability to be a team player, and work closely with other maintenance teams to ensure resources are used effectively is essential, along with:

  • A degree or diploma in an engineering discipline (Mechanical).
  • AICIP or API inspector qualification (or willing to obtain).
  • Post trade experience in a leading hand or supervisory position.
  • Formal qualification in frontline leadership.
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of industry safety requirements.
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Readily able to read, understand and interpret applicable drawings.
  • Ability to communicate with your team when they are working at remote sites.
  • Takes a holistic approach to maintaining mechanical equipment reliability and optimisation.
  • Actively pursues opportunities for the team to refine technical skills by their participation in career development opportunities and targeted training when gaps have been identified.
