Learning & Development Coordinator

Islands Petroleum is seeking a motivated and highly organised Learning & Development Coordinator to help build the capability of our people across the business.
Reporting to the HR & Talent Development Manager, this role will coordinate and support the delivery of leadership and professional development programs across our operations. You will work closely with managers, depot teams, employees and external training providers to ensure our people have the skills, knowledge and competencies required to perform effectively, safely and in line with business requirements.
What you'll be responsible for
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and administer soft-skills training programs and support operational teams to deliver technical, safety, compliance training.
- Manage training schedules, workshops, onboarding and induction programs across multiple locations.
- Work with managers to identify training, competency and workforce capability requirements.
- Support competency assessments, leadership development, succession planning and career development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate training records, employee learning files and compliance registers.
- Coordinate training logistics, materials, venues, attendance and external training providers.
- Track training completion, participation and effectiveness.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly L&D reports and analytics.
- Use feedback and performance data to recommend improvements to training programs.
- Promote continuous learning opportunities and help strengthen a positive learning culture across Islands Petroleum.
What we're looking for
You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education or a related field.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment / Training & Development - desirable.
- At least 5 years' relevant experience, ideally within the petroleum industry or a similar operational environment.
- Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with LMS or HRIS systems.
- A sound understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
- A positive attitude, professional behaviour and a strong commitment to working safely.
