Licenced Electrician

HBS PNG LIMITED currently operates in numerous mine sites across PNG, both on the mainland and remote island locations. We own and operate one of the largest and best maintained mining fleets in PNG, offering the mining sector a variety of services including road construction, maintenance, haulage, lighting, crushing services and plant equipment hire.

We are taking expressions of interest for highly and suitably qualified individuals for the position of Licensed Electrician. Applicants must have experience within the mining and construction fields.

This role will involve:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, switchboards, lighting systems, and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Conduct electrical testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance activities
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work complies with PNG Power Limited (PPL) regulations and company safety standards.
• Complete required compliance documentation, including Notices of commencement and completion.
• Perform routine inspections and maintain records of electrical maintenance activities
• Manage electrical tools, equipment and consumables.

The Candidate must have:

• Completed apprenticeship in Electrical Trades; preferably NATTB Trade certificate Levels 1 – 3.
• Current PNG Electrical Wireman’s License issued by PNG Power Limited
• Minimum 3 – 5 years post apprenticeship experience as an electrician.
• Grade 12 Certificate with passes mathematics and physics
• Experience in industrial, construction, mining, or residential electrical systems.
• Sound knowledge of PNG Electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Good communication skills in English and Tok Pisin.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in challenging environments.
