LOGISTICS OFFICER
About the Role
We are seeking an highly organized and proactive Logistics Officer to join our team. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager. Organize critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI’s for goods delivery and end user/department satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of logistics, inventory management, warehousing, and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures, tariff classifications, import/export documentation, and freight forwarding activities.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, logistics tracking tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, shipping agents, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, procurement, warehousing, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments, including sea freight and air freight operations.
- Proven experience in inventory control, stock management, and warehouse operations
- Experience working with customs brokers, shipping lines, suppliers, and freight service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor logistics movements, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Experience in preparing reports, maintaining records, and supporting audit and compliance requirement
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organise all logistics and supply chain activities, including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Manage domestic and international shipment movements and liaise with suppliers, customs brokers, shipping agents, and freight providers.
- Monitor shipment status and maintain logistics tracking reports, providing regular updates to end users and management.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, tariff classifications, import/export requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee receiving, storage, dispatch, and stock movement activities.
- Track purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier contracts, and deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality products and services are delivered on time.
- Resolve logistics, delivery, and supply issues through effective coordination with suppliers and internal departments.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and price comparisons to achieve best value for the organization
- Prepare logistics, inventory, and procurement reports and support audit and compliance activities.
- Ensure protection of confidential business information and comply with HSSE, safety, and environmental standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency and supply chain performance.
