About the Role

This is a leadership role with real responsibility and autonomy. Reporting to the Operations & Logistics Manager, you'll oversee a team of over 20 staff across warehouse, cartage, and workshop functions who reports to you directly. You’ll work closely with the Operations & Logistics Manager but have the freedom to structure and lead daily operations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in practical environments, enjoys leading from the front, and is eager to drive improvements on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily warehouse, cartage, and workshop operations
• Lead and manage a team of drivers, warehouse, and workshop staff
• Monitor shipment timelines and manage urgent deliveries as required
• Use Microsoft Office and Google Sheets to track, report, and analyze operations
• Implement process improvements and maintain accountability across teams
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and customs where necessary
• Maintain stock accuracy and enforce warehouse safety practices
• Foster a culture of initiative, accountability, and teamwork

Requirements

• Conversational English. Conversational in Chinese Preferred.
• Experience in cartage, freight forwarding, or export logistics is a strong plus
• Proven experience in logistics, operations, or transport management
• Strong leadership with a practical, hands-on management style
• Comfortable making decisions with limited resources and support
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Sheets
• Adaptable and well-suited for a rugged, fast-paced work environment
• Willingness to be based in Lae, Papua New Guinea

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Saturday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
• Flexibility for occasional after-hours or urgent shipments
