Our Lihir operation in Fixed Plant Maintenance is now recruiting for the position of Maintenance Coordinator – Workshops.

As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and coordinate maintenance activities to align with the production plan for workshop tasks, including rebuilding fixed cranes and compressors. This involves understanding plant priorities and the long-term maintenance schedule through the Planning Department.

Your responsibilities will extend setting performance objectives for your team, understanding and monitoring the effectiveness of procedures, and identifying improvement opportunities.

The preferred candidate must hold a Mechanical Trade Certificate (Mechanical Fitting / Machinist) and have over 7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the mining environment, including experience at a senior supervisory level. You will demonstrate your expertise by providing technical input for the Maintenance plan, scoping complex work, and supporting long-term planning and shutdowns. Additionally, you will ensure effective procedures, coordinate contractor support for inspections and testing, oversee Maintenance Operational Readiness, stay updated on equipment defects, conduct QA/QC audits, and lead or participate in critical RCAs as needed.
