MAINTENANCE PLANNING ENGINEER – PORT MORESBY
High Arctic focuses on delivering tailored energy solutions in Papua New Guinea, a region we have supported for over 17 years through oil and gas exploration and production. We are now seeking to employ an experienced Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team at the Port Moresby Office for an immediate start. This position will report to the Head of Maintenance and Engineering, providing a planning, scheduling, and monitoring function to support all maintenance teams, driving timely completion of all planned and scheduled maintenance and/or project activities.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Develop and maintain detailed work orders for maintenance work, including labour, tools, materials, equipment, and safety procedures where required.
- Work closely with the procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
- Collaborate with operational, maintenance, and rentals teams to prioritise maintenance activities aligned with client requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain and manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate work order tracking, job histories, and asset records.
- Train trades in the usage of the CMMS.
- Review completed work by tradesmen for accuracy, quality, and efficiency, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage maintenance backlogs by proactively involving Maintenance Supervisors and addressing backlogs with realistic scheduling timelines.
- Monitor and coordinate all personnel, third parties, and equipment conducting activities in the yard.
- Conduct visits to all areas of operations, including local offices and operating sites.
To succeed in this role, Candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Mechanical / Electrical Trade or Engineering qualification.
- 5 years’ experience in planning and scheduling for industrial operations.
- Experience in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management System(s).
- Experience in root cause analysis techniques.
- Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work under pressure.
- Team player, strong communicator with an eye for detail.
