Job Scope:

The Maintenance Seamer Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling a variety of can seamers to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Key equipment includes Angelus 29V, Goets 12P, Interpack 1.57 and Hema/Interpack Trapezoidal seamers. This role also serves as a Line Mechanic for additional plant equipment, including fillers, conveyors, can washers, sterilizers, and basket loaders/unloaders.

The role involves mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and steam systems and requires a strong focus on seam integrity and food safety. Duties cover equipment set-up, changeovers, preventive and emergency maintenance, fabrication, installations, and addressing quality and safety issues.

Job functions:

• Perform all job duties in a safe and food-safe manner, following GMPs and company safety policies.
• Cannery mechanic is responsible for setting up the lines for production
• Carryout necessary services and repairs
• Troubleshoot problems
• 24hr on call duty
• Adjust and set the seam profiles as per the given standards (double seam profile)
• Carryout seam tests
• Responsible for all running repairs
• Guide seam operators as to fulfill the daily targets
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation
• Communicate key updates to the manager in charge
• Work with the Storeman to ensure availability of critical parts; properly sign out all items per maintenance policy and generate part requests as needed.
• Ensure all product contact surfaces are protected during work; complete proper cleanup after each task.

Requirements & qualifications

• Hands-on experience on continuous fillers, clinchers, and round/trapezoidal can seamers
• Sound knowledge of machine overhauling and daily maintenance
• Candidates who are familiar with Hema, Canco, Goetz, and Angelus machines are preferred
• Good knowledge of English
• Willing to work long hours
• Age between 30-50
