Job Summary:
The Management Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial operations, supporting project performance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role plays a key part in managing budgets, cash flow, and cost control while supervising the accounts and procurement teams.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Oversight
- Manage and supervise the Accounts and Procurement teams, including Accounts Officers and Procurement Officers
- Provide guidance, performance monitoring, and support to ensure efficient operations
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
- Prepare and coordinate weekly expense reports for management review
- Manage recharges across departments and projects
- Project Financial Control
- Monitor and manage project accounts, including budgeting and cash flow tracking
- Review and process project claims to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support financial planning and cost control for ongoing projects
- Cost & Value Management
- Coordinate value management activities to optimize project costs and improve financial efficiency
- Analyse financial performance and recommend cost-saving initiatives
- Operational Financial Duties
- Manage and monitor utility bills, ensuring timely payment and cost tracking
- Ensure proper allocation and recording of expenses across relevant accounts
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong understanding of project accounting and cash flow management
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Qualification & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience in a similar management accounting role
