CreditBank PNG is hiring for the role of Manager, Finance Operations & Accounting on a short-term basis (6 months).

The Manager, Finance Operations and Accounting will be responsible for overseeing various finance and accounting functions and plays a crucial part in ensuring timely review and management of finance operations and related accounting to support reporting and decision making. This role is based in Port Moresby.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage invoice processing, payments, and reconciliation processes. Ensure timely and accurate disbursements in compliance with internal controls and procurement policies.
• Oversee procurement activities including vendor management, purchase order approvals, and contract compliance. Work closely with business units to support procurement needs.
• Lead day-to-day financial operations including bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions & reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor and review actual expenditure against budget, provide variance analysis, and support cost control initiatives.
• Drive and manage key finance-led initiatives (e.g., system upgrades, process automation, policy enhancements). Deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with audit, risk, and regulatory requirements. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the preparation and support for external audit activities. Ensure timely provision of schedules, reconciliations, and documentation required for statutory audits. Act as a key liaison with external auditors.
• Contribute to the Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with audit, risk, and regulatory requirements. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Lead, develop, and support staff within the finance operations and procurement teams. Promote a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Other duties as required by the Manager, Financial Reporting & Group Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business accounting is preferred.
• Current CPA certification would be an advantage.

Experience:

• At least 5 years' experience in accounting and tax compliance in a regulated financial services environment.
• Excellent written and oral command of English,
• Team player.
