MANAGER – HRD GOVERNANCE AND PROJECTS UNIT, HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
Reports To: Manager – Human Resources Department
Location: POM Branch
The HR Unit Manager – Governance & Projects role is a strategic mid-senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the Human Resource department operates with integrity, strong governance, data-driven insight, and operational excellence. The role supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of HR Governance frameworks, policies, systems, and strategic HR Projects. This role bridges the gap between high-level HR strategy and day-to-day compliance, overseeing the frameworks that keep the Bank protected and progressive.
Education/Qualification/Experiences/Skills/Competencies
- Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business and management (HRM), Law (LLB), Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred from a recognized Tertiary Institutions.
- A post graduate qualification in HR or Management is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of HR experience; 5 + years in management or project leadership.
- Proven expertise in compliance and risk, enterprise policy design and workforce planning.
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms and data visualization tools. Must be a Certified Compliance Professional.
- Technical Skills:
- Process improvements and governance Project management expertise.
- Compliance and risk
- Data Analysis and Decision Making
- Communication and Change Management
- Strong knowledge of HR governance, policy development, and compliance frameworks.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws and employment regulations.
- Expertise in designing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures to ensure internal consistency and legal compliance.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with employment practices.
- Ability to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines for HR initiatives.
- Using workforce data to identify trends, evaluate project effectiveness, and make evidence-based decisions
- Reviewing and optimizing HR workflows to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and project management tools.
