Credit Corporation (PNG) Limited seeks an experienced person to fill in the role of Manager Banking Assurance.
The incumbent ensures that banking activities align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. The manager works closely with various banking business units to identify risks, implement controls, and enhance financial integrity, safeguarding the bank’s reputation and operational efficiency. This role will work in collaboration with the second line of defense Risk function. The role is based in Port Moresby.
Outline of Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Risk & Compliance Management:
- Ensure the bank complies with regulatory, legal, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement assurance frameworks to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Work with regulators and auditors to ensure smooth compliance banking audits.
- Operational Assurance & Internal Controls:
- Monitor banking processes to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Implement and oversee internal control measures to minimize fraud and financial crime.
- Identify gaps in operational processes, recommend and implement improvements.
- Ensure branches and departments adhere to risk management policies.
- Audit & Financial Integrity:
- Coordinate internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings with banking business.
- Analyse financial reports and transactions to detect irregularities.
- Implement corrective actions to address audit recommendations.
- Policy and Procedure Development & Implementation:
- Develop policies and procedures for banking assurance and risk management.
- Ensure staff are trained on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain documentation of assurance and compliance activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
- Collaborate with senior management to align assurance strategies with business goals.
- Provide regular reports on compliance, risk status, and audit outcomes.
Key Requirements
- 5 – 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Degree in Business, Economics or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of the local market conditions
- Establishment of business development strategies to achieve outcomes
- Knowledge of Financial Service policies and procedures
- Strong operational knowledge of banking assurance and compliance
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and developing others
