Manager Construction and Services
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the incumbent will oversee the progress of the construction projects and manage site services to ensure operational support to the exploration program. Timely and cost-effective manner consistent with corporate strategy by providing leadership consistent with the Company’s Vision, Values and Policies.
This is a FIFO position on a 2/1 ratio roster flights and transport depending.
Key roles and responsibilities include
- Responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects related to site infrastructure.
- Responsible for Control of the following departments
Site HR /Camp /Travel/ Site Security /Maintenance/ Site transportation and Marine sections/Site Supply and Logistics
- Leading safe work practices by ensuring safe work conditions and practices in the Department, proactively investigating all safety and health concerns, and implementing continuous improvement in safety.
- Ensuring the health and safety of all personnel in the Services Department.
- Ensuring there is a comprehensive suite of fit-for-purpose systems in place in the Construction Department and that the systems are operating properly.
- Overseeing and supporting construction projects from conception to completion
- Preparing timely, accurate internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Analysing, managing and mitigating risks
- Ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
- Actively plan and implement security measures and plans to provide project security to required standards.
- Ensure site supplies are maintained to achieve un uninterrupted and cost efficient supply to the project.
- Oversee site HR on a day to day basis.
- Manage project travel and camp services to ensure the required minimum standard is achieved
- Provide site Maintenance oversight and guidance ensuring a minimum standard of operation can be maintained.
- Contributing productively as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
- Qualification in construction management, engineering or related field
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proven working experience in construction management preferably in the mining industry, with appropriate experience in processing plants
- Experience managing a vast array of teams on a remote operation
- Emergency response and crisis management in remote operations environments
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Commercial acumen relevant to the role
- Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
